Trivia
  • Daisuke's first name can be roughly translated to 'great helper'; his last name roughly means 'watching the stage.'
  • Daisuke performs a side job as an anonymous rumormonger through the internet as something of a hobby. His handle is 'Gakichan,' which is the same as his Darkside handle.
  • He has a tendency to dye his hair roughly once a month; he doesn't adhere to any strict schedule but seeing him go over two months with the same hair color is exceedingly rare.
  • Daisuke's musical tastes range from 'classical' to 'pop' and everything in between; sometimes he'll simply listen to white noise and make up the melody himself.
  • Daisuke can't stand dogs; there isn't any particular reason for his dislike, he just finds them worthless. He's also allergic to most dogs, which isn't really the cause of his dislike, but is certainly a reason for him to dislike them even more.
  • He enjoys gardening, and in fact maintains a hanging garden in his office.
  • He can speak and understand English and German well; thanks to dabbling in the occult he has a fairly good understanding of Latin, and he has a vague but not perfect grasp of Standard Mandarin.
  • Itami operates a substantial information network spread across Lunarvale, Sumaru, Port Island and Inaba, with Okina City serving as the nucleus of it all. Daisuke has cultivated this network over many, many years through various seedy organizations, and his list of contacts include anything from the yakuza to experts on the occult and "supernatural."
  • Omoikane Investigations typically performs its jobs through the internet. Many of Daisuke's more illicit dealings involves the hacking of computer systems in order to retrieve data that is less available to the public. As such, Daisuke is rather skilled at the use of the computer in both general internet surfing and in hacking, both malicious and benign.

Profile And Skills

Profile: Daisuke Itami is a man in the business of interfering in other people's business. Running a cyber-investigation business known as Omoikane Investigations out of Okina City, Daisuke typically deals with performing background checks on individuals for various companies, amongst other assorted cyberspace sundries. Though rumors circulate that he may be involved in the dealing of slightly less legal information, there is no definite evidence to support it and his agency enjoys a moderate degree of success in the cities surrounding Okina. A somewhat eccentric man with a silver tongue and an eye for what his clients want, Daisuke nonetheless has a penchant for mischief that seems to skirt the moral boundaries far more often than can rightly be considered comfortable. But despite this generally annoying personality trait, Daisuke Itami is a man who absolutely loves to help people with their problems. And he'd love to help you, too.

Skills: The Biggest Jackanapes in the Entire World, That's Right, Jackanapes, Information Brokering 101, Very Passionate About His Hobbies, Hobbies Include: Screwing with your Raison D'être; Ruining Your Life; Gardening, I Think He's Willing to Make Some Kinda Deal with the Devil with You, Hair Color of the Month, Strange Taste in Clothes, Strange Taste in Music, Strange Taste in Everything, Life's a Game, Life's a Gamble, Just Wants to Help You

History

Personality

Combat Information

Daisuke's primary strength is his agility; he is skilled in the use of techniques like parkour to use his environment in order to outpace his targets, which is something he frequently relies on due to a general lack of physical hardiness. He has a great deal of knowledge on both the occult and Persona in general, and is thusly well-versed in magical techniques; while he himself is not extraordinarily strong, he is fairly proficient in the use of butterfly knives, which he seems to singularly use as his weapon in any given fight.

Special: Psychomachia - Calling up mystic power and his knowledge of his Persona, Daisuke throws seven cards into the air, each representing one of the Seven Deadly Sins; the imagery of the cards project out in phantasmal figures made of darkness that collide with the battlefield and anything in their way, weakening the spirit and mind and belaboring the body with lingering traces of humanity's greatest vices.

Persona Information and Resonance
"I am thou... thou art I. I am Akoman, the cause of evil intent..."

Aka-manah.png

Akoman was the cause of evil intent and one of the Daevas of Zoroastrian myth, directly opposing the cause of good intent, Vahman. Filling the position of the second of Ahriman's creations, Akoman was said to blunt the ability of man to make righteous decisions, afflicting mankind with the desire to seek out the "gross defects" of others. The perverter of mankind's thoughts and the entity that introduced deceit and physical evil in the world, Akoman presents an ideal reflection of Daisuke's love of twisting the nature of things around him and exposing the inner, "true" self of mankind's seedier thoughts.

Akoman gives Daisuke the passive ability to sniff out another person's desires or darker thoughts. Daisuke was already gifted at this, but Akoman takes it to even higher degrees; this isn't to say that Daisuke can instantly tell what anyone is thinking, but rather, the more he talks to a person the more he can glean about their personality and wants through their behaviorisms, their various inflections of tone and facial expressions, and etc., similar to how a 'human lie detector' works, or like any good fake psychic you ever meet in your life. Interaction is required; Daisuke can't simply discern the inner workings of a person by looking at them funny. He just happens to be particularly good at uncovering those inner motivations than others when talking or dealing with people.

Resonance:

Picture the most annoying sound/smell/sense you can think of. Something that absolutely nauseates and irritates you to no end. Nails on a chalkboard, babies crying, the eyewatering scent of onions, or getting maced in the eyes. This is Daisuke's resonance. The form might vary depending on the person, but the theme is still very much there: incredibly, off-puttingly annoying.

  • IV - THE EMPEROR
    • "Endachin" - An interesting young man who hired Daisuke for a particular ill-meaning job involving some particular girls. Daisuke was so impressed by Kyo in their first meeting that he arbitrarily and unilaterally hired Kyo into an investigative position at Omoikane. Daisuke sees a wealth of potential inside Kyo - potential he is extremely eager to bring forth and unleash just to see what might happen. Currently in the process of aggressively promoting Kyo's new nickname of "Endachin."
    • Akatsuki Enda - Kyo's twin; though they have not interacted much, Akatsuki took a practically immediate dislike to the information broker, while Daisuke takes great delight in getting under the poor boy's skin. Considering Daisuke's relationship to Akatsuki's "older" brother, it's likely inevitable for their paths to cross again -- even if Daisuke helpfully goads things in that direction.

  • VI - THE LOVERS
    • "Tohyun" - First learned of through both Kyo Enda's and Miwa Saitou's respective requests, Daisuke took it upon himself to get to know Tohya more directly -- and was quite interested in what he's found so far. Both her apparent intense dislike for Kyo (who knows why) and her general attitude intrigues him -- and more than that, Daisuke is -quite- interested in goading

  • VIII - JUSTICE
    • "Nori-chi" - Daisuke's older sister by exactly one year, their lives are tied together by red strings of mutual hatred. Though perhaps somewhat odd given his background, Daisuke absolutely loathes Noriko to the point that he even derives very little "pure" enjoyment from the games he may make out of her life. The source of this animus has no definite origin - Noriko is simply the opposite of everything Daisuke is and wants to be, everything he loves and cherishes. And she's a complete buzz kill, to boot. Unknown to Noriko, Daisuke is single-handedly responsible for the scandals that ruined her career. Noriko also has the distinct honor of holding the title of "Most Hateable Person Ever~~" (no really, he wishes she would die (painfully))
  • IX - THE HERMIT
    • None yet
  • X - THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE
    • "Kuma-kun" - Daisuke's childhood friend back in his middle school years, Heiji - aka Akira - and Daisuke have a long and twisted past history. Daisuke is well-aware of Akira's hatred of him, deigning to use that very hatred as a means of keeping Akira in his palm. Daisuke also still fondly refers to him as a wonderful friend, which may or may not be further infuriating to the other, slightly deranged, man.
  • XI - STRENGTH
    • Enoha Koinose - Daisuke first heard of Enoha through her brief but curious appearance on Wang-Long Chizuru's show. He's taken an interest both in Enoha and her brother -- especially her fervent belief in the merits of hard work above all else. Enoha has recently hired Daisuke for a certain job involving a certain potentially dangerous family -- which Daisuke sees as the perfect opportunity to begin sinking his proverbial claws into her. Well-meaning claws. Obviously.
  • XII - THE HANGED MAN
    • "Ru-chan" - Daisuke's assistant and would-be bodyguard, Rui Onishi rather suddenly dropped into Daisuke's life in order to offer her services at the request of a man sitting on death row. She has been inflicted with Daisuke's "good cheer" ever since. Despite apparently being tremendously skilled - or more likely because of it - Daisuke more often than not uses her for significantly more mundane tasks, and takes a great deal of pleasure in seeing how far he can prod her distant veneer to a breaking point. Has some vague ties to her father, the reason why she is forced to deal with him to begin with.
  • XIII - DEATH
    • None yet
  • XIV - TEMPERANCE
    • Miwa Saitou - A meek young woman who hired Daisuke for a particular well-meaning job involving some particular friends. Aware of Miwa's relationship with Kyo Enda, Daisuke took it upon himself to look a bit more closely into her life after their meeting - and has found himself deeply fascinated with his discoveries. Along with Kyo, Miwa has become one of Daisuke's new favorite projects - which is likely not a good thing.
    • Akiha Ishibashi - Daisuke's younger sister. Somehow does not despise Daisuke despite everything that has happened. Daisuke has somewhat conflicted feelings over Akiha, though he certainly cares for her enough to make her the subject of some of his various schemes (it's an expression of love, really). Unknown to Akiha, Daisuke is responsible for the events that unleashed her Persona.
    • "Daiyan"
    • Naomi Suzuno
  • XV - THE DEVIL
    • Itsuka Mizuhara - A new intern at Omoikane. Her response to his unorthodox interview methods has piqued his interest, and has led him to believe that Itsuka might have quite a bit of potential to be explored in a place like Omoikane. While no longer employed at Omoikane, she's nonetheless a very intriguing - and potentially entertaining - individual to Daisuke.

  • XX - JUDGEMENT
    • Kichiro Higa - A doctor and professor at Fra Mauro University who hired Daisuke to look into SEES dorms in order to, in his words, assuage certain worrisome rumors he had heard about it. Daisuke has a better idea of what the man really wants despite his claims -- and, intrigued by the man, has decided to make Kichiro into a new project. Which can only end well.
    • "Nagi-chi" - Daisuke viewed Nagisa as an inhuman monster - or better, a virus - upon their meeting, and decided to take it upon himself to "humanize" Nagisa and turn her, in his words, into a virus "beneficial" for humanity. He's succeeded not only in tainting that inhuman innocence, but also binding Nagisa effectively to him for reasons that can only mean ill. Despite this she still has a way of getting under his skin like only one other person can. But while Daisuke finds her existence grating on his, things have become slightly more Complicated recently.
