Profile
Transferring into Inaba from some bigshot private Tokyo school, you'd think Shou would be full of himself. He's not (for the most part), but isn't a big fan of the change none-the-less. Shou's a nice, approachable enough guy, though his friends might call him a bit annoying, and his main, noticeable trait is that he's always doing...something. Be it clubs or studying, he seems to be fond of running himself into the ground. He's a model student, at least decent at the sports and instruments he plays, and seems to have some sort of minor eye for art, but one can't help but notice that he looks a bit tired sometimes.

History, Abbreviated
Ryou and Naomi Hamada, born and raised Inaba natives who attended art school together out of town, moved to Tokyo with Shou's then infant big sister, Tsubame, and opened a design firm. Shortly thereafter they popped out an adorable baby Shou. The business itself flowered well enough, especially in the wake of clientele prospering during the dot-com bubble. Shou has enjoyed a decent private-school education most of his life because of this.
Fast forward to his first year of high school: The business is steadily on the decline. His mother, the president, lacks the energy of her youth, and his father experiences regular health complications from city stress and air. Private school has become oppressive for Shou, and he's developed workaholic tendencies to combat a lack of acknowledgment from his peers. Said tendencies land Shou in a short hospital visit from exhaustion. With practically everyone in his family sick and tired, and his parents running out of money, his mother retires and the Hamadas move back home to Inaba around the first week of 2010.

Notable Interactions
- Reki Kurusu: Shou first saw Kurusu working at a Junes foodcourt stand, half surprised by his over-apologetic nature and half feeling sorry for him for working multiple part-time jobs before even hitting high school. Tried to convince Thora not to make Reki pay for her dry cleaning (failed), watched Reki almost talk Reiji into beating him up. Later Reki would return the favor by showing him his freaky persona and making Shou have a mini-nervous breakdown.
- Shiori Hibiki: Ai Ebihara and Shiori had a little run in and Shou, well, picked up a bag or two. She seems to be a bubbly person, except for that time she got really creepy after Yoh told them both about watching some weird magic show?
- Hitoshi Taniguchi: Met at the foodcourt along with Yosuke. Shou bugged him a little about being an author. Later he would show up during Shiori and Yoh's weird magic-talk or whatever and be kind of weird too, but less creepy.
- Yoh Yamagatani: This guy just keeps showing up when Shou's around. Together they saw Wataru playing with some weird fish, and later Yoh would run into him on the Junes food court and tell him and Shiori that he'd seen some folks fighting in Samegawa with magic? Like that's possible.
- Thora Kobayashi: Shou's only run into Thora once, but she left her mark already. Thankfully not in a physical sense. Shou tried to convince Thora not to strong-arm Reki Kurusu into paying for a coat he unintentionally got a bit messy, as the kid seems to be a bit hard up to Shou. She just sort of stared him down and asked if he wanted to fight, and the interaction honestly just left Shou feeling a bit stupid and powerless.
- Shirou Sekigawa: First (indirectly) rescued him from getting pounded by Thora, and later agreed to meet him and tell him the dirt on all that "magic" crap Yoh had gone on about. Told Reki to show him his persona. Good times!
