Yuuka Chiba is the youngest child and second daughter of Akinobu and Usagi Chiba, her elder sister being Risa Chiba in her fourth year at medical school in Tokyo, Japan. Her birthday is September 18th, 1992. She's been taking private vocal, flute, and combat lessons in the bo staff since she was in her final years of elementary school. Very quiet, studious, knowledgeable. Yuuka started Gekkoukan High School spring of 2008. Graduated her first year in the early spring of 2009. What happened during 2008? ... Not entirely /that much/. More of the fact that she was awake during the Persona time known as the Dark Hour. Saved by SEES member Yoh Hoshimoto. Joined SEES a week or so later, once her Persona, True Unicorn, finally appeared, and she was officially indoctrinated... except there was one small issue ... she hated her Evoker. This nearly caused her to turn around and walk out, but another member, someone Yuuka isn't sure of who she knows anymore, asked her why she was going to run, just because of she being scared of something. Yuuka didn't have a reply at that time, so instead, she decided to come back... and she hasn't left SEES since. Although the question of why she was running still haunts her to this day... as she still doesn't have an answer for it.
Starting the next year, Yuuka quickly found herself lost, confused, and utterly /lost/. More than once. There were so many new people, and Yuuka quickly found herself out on the outside of SEES, with little to no friends, and just about nothing that made her happy anymore. It was time to change that, and change quickly did happen. Yuuka managed to alienate both Itsuka Mizuhara and Yoshiro Yoshino within a week. She regretted this almost immediately. She avoided most battles or the more enriching events known as Tartaru runs, due to her fear of her Evoker and just unable to feel at home with the group. This changed, over time. Pastor/Guidance Counselor Lucas Xavier and Yohs' brother, Wataru, quickly became involved in her life, as did Shiori Hibiki, a fellow SEES member. Between the three, and the quiet guidance of several others such as Akatsuki Enda and Aigis, she quickly found a balance, including attending such events as the SEES Gauntlet... which she /still/ hasn't forgive Minato Arisato for yet!
As midterms came up for second term, a foreigner, new to her class, named Blaise Cameron, popped up. Blaise was ... incredibly charming, sweet, and above it all, he /sang/. Yuuka quickly fell for the charm of the teen, which led to chaos as Yuuka let slip to SEES about his issues and his want to find his father, who had disappeared. This quickly went south, including as Shiori intervened, threatening Blaise, and earning a broken arm for it, and more tears from Yuuka. Things didn't go well for several weeks following it, especially as over time they managed to patch things up themselves, which made Yuuka feel incredibly bad at Shioris' intervention. She feels she owes Shiori a debt, which Shiori has assured her is not so, but still... she doesn't think it is right. In was in these patchy times that Yuuka, Aigis, Shiki, Thora Kobayashi, and and Shirou Sekigawa went into the TV World to rescue Fumiya Watanabe. It went pretty well, however, there was a unfortunate offense: Takahisa Kandori showed up with the Chariot Shadow, Minagi Shimizu, and another unknown girl. They ended up having to do battle in a locked room before they could continue. Once down, however, they continued to make their way up to Fumiyas' tower, where they battled his Shadow and he accepted it, gaining the ability to call his own Persona. That brief annoyance was enough, however, and one calm night in Lunarvale, Yuuka stalked up to Kandori's office, and battled him. She /thinks/ she won - she thinks - she got out with an accurate map of the Lunarvale SEBEC building, however, he topped her by dumping her in Yosuke Hanamura's room before back to her bedroom at Xaviers' church. A few days later, Yuuka was at the meeting with Shion Katsuragi and Souji Seta where they interrogated Fumiya about about getting TV'ed, but didn't get very useful information.
Things were looking up between Blaise and Yuuka. As well, Minagi had the Chariot Shadow removed. Things were... going okay. However, one night, Blaise asked her, Shiki Ichimonji, and Minagi Shimizu to play the Persona game with him. Shiori and Hinata Itoh showed up as well. Yuuka was... very uneasy the whole time. Things ... went well, however, in terms of the game itself. They landed in the world of between consciness and unconciousness, meeting the Guide, AKA Philemon. He gave them some food for thought, while Yuuka said some stupid things to Blaise. This led to a event after the game, where they met up again, and he yelled at her. She fled, leaving her Evoker behind. Minagi, who Blaise was becoming close too, got the Evoker and returned it to Minato, who still has not actually given it back to her. This depressed Yuuka. Blaise and Yuuka met up several days later, in Lunarvale, while out exercising seperately. He told her about his need to stay faithful and how he still needed to behave, as he was getting close to Minagi. It ... sort of broke her heart, but she agreed to it. A couple of days later, late to a event where they were raiding the Lunarvale SEBEC building, Yuuka was barely inside of Lunarvale when the DVA system shattered, creating Mikage-cho....
Yuuka ended up on the East side of Mikage-Cho, AKA Lunarvale, alongside many others, including Thora, Shirou, Yosuke, and several others that she didn't get really close too. yosuke had a smart idea and started something called Fort Junes, where everyday is /still/ great. This was nice, as it was calm, quiet, and safe. Until the little girl who called Wataru big bro, Aki showed up. Really defenseful, really angry, she called Yuuka whore right off the bat, and things have gone downhill since there. There were some ups, as Yuuka managed to find Shiori and bring her to Junes, and Lucas showed up not long after... with Ponyo, the guardian of the Samegawa River, and uh, Watarus' pet. Daigan, Yosuke's Shadow, showed up once, and Thora, Yuuka, and someone named Tohya Kidzuki tussled with him, with him managing to put each of them into if not through a wall of Fort Junes. (Yuuka and Tohya left dents; Thora, a huge hole.) Yuuka had some bad nightmares that night, and left, leaving cryptic notes with both Shiori and Lucas as she disappeared into the night, promising to be there when they find Wataru... And find Wataru they did. Listening to the cryptic clues of Aki and the hee-hoos of Jack Frosts, they found what seemed to be a perfectly normal Japanese home ... but nothing was normal, for Yoh Hoshimoto, Yuukas' former senpai, and the dead brother of Wataru, was very much alive and kicking(literally, and physically.) Wataru and Shiori faced off as she yelled at him about forgetting her, his girlfriend. Aki showed up, and thanks to the timely intervention of Yosuke, she was taken care of, leaving Lucas and Yuuka dealing with Yoh and his Persona. They... won, barely, but it led into another battle with Wataru locked in a cage, protected by a guardian skeleton dragon, which was dispatched easily enough. That done, the group headed back to Fort Junes, less Yuuka, who disappeared, too hurt, too ... something... to deal with the emotional breakdown.
Yosuke had this crazy idea to break through the high-level demon-infested subway tunnel. Grafting metal plates together and adding wheels, sturdy sides, a roof, and several windows, he, along with the scrounging help of too many people to remember and Thoras' ability with fire and creating things, created the DemonPlow Alpha. Sturdy, with a snowplow-like front, it was set on the wheels of the subway track, and was powered by such uses of magic like Agidyne. At one point, Yuuka, climbing out a window, clung to it for dear life, summoning Unicorn to help break through a dangerous demon. With that, she climbed back in, only to be jolted silly minutes later when they crashed... Shortly after(as in minutes) after they crashed, the group stumbled out to realize they had crashed into the variety of people from the West Side of Mikage-cho, who had been driving cars. With that revelation, the tunnels were open. Yuuka and Blaise found each other after Hinata glomped her, and they wandered off together, into the Augustus forest, where they both napped, before having a serious conversation. What happened both gave and took hope away from the petite girl, yet... she wonders.
... and kept wondering, at that. Wandering around west Mikage-Cho, Yuuka fell in with some old friends, including building up some close relationships with Souji Seta, and getting in a shower and clean clothes, so she at least felt clean rather than dirty and grimy, although that quickly went to hell as she went into demon battles and the like. Yuuka fought and forced herself to train, to stay strong, to be there for all her friends, no matter what happened, wandering often between the two sides. During one such wander, she ran into Naomi Suzuno, Takahisa Kandori, and Himeru Namikawa. What followed was a lively philosophical debate including whether it was better to be a pawn and have your decisions made, or the player with all the consequences -- while a panda chewed on her. Including during the last round of Mikage-Cho was a final battle. Shadow Yoh appeared in front of Fort Junes, with Lucas, Shiori, Hisoka, Souji, and Aki on site with Yuuka. Souji used his gentle, calm words, and got Aki to join the group, especially when it appeared that Yoh had broken out of her control. Together, the group battled Shadow Yoh/Shadow Gawaine, and all was going fine -- until Shadow Yoh sent a mortal blow straight at Shiori and Hisoka -- that Wataru dived in front of and took. Pissed, angry, fire blew through her mind, and she awakened the persona Poltergeist, who proved to be a great help in the battle, but led to strange comments from one Lucas Xavier. Eventually, however, they won, with Wataru hovering on the brink of life - or death. After the battle, Yuuka had to brutally wake Shiori up to the fact that moping around, even with a shattered voice, wasn't going to do anything -- and it worked.
That night, Yuuka headed for the Karma Palace, to face the Harem Queen, alongside Deidra Doyle. Along the way they met up with Masumi Hayashi, Blaise Cameron, and Strega member Chidori Yoshino. They then ran into Naomi Suzuno, Miwa Saitou, and Tohya Kidzuki, and at the bottom of the dungeon, found Shirou Sekigawa, Thora Kobayashi, Enoha Koinose, Ideal Maki, Kanon Itoh, and Adachi Tohru. There, they found the harem queen, Maki's classmate Chisato. Using a special power, she turned Chidori into stone; afterward, Naomi, Shirou, and Yuuka destroyed the mirror, removing her power, causing the barrier to disrupt itself, and disappear. Before they left, however, they convinced her that she was beautiful no matter what, and, accepting this, went upstairs with the others... Then time twisted, and they found themselves in Lunarvale, at the Augustus Trees...
Now back in Port Island, Yuuka is trying to relax. It's not working well, as Blaise Cameron is still trying to befriend Strega member Chidori Yoshino, as they evidently got into a fight; as well, Blaises' mother, Valerie Cameron, disappeared. Blaise acted nice, kind, even lovingly to Yuuka, only to confuse her seconds later when he made a comment about how the height difference didn't help. Yuuka gave up at that point, unable to deal with the comfort then rejection, just said forget about it. Seeing him, talking about him, breaks her... along with other boys, Wataru, after recovering in the hospital, ended up in Prison in Sumaru. Evidently, he's going into the KNOWS program underneath Takahisa Kandori with the promise that he gets off charges about the murders...Alongside the male issues, there are more closer, personal issues. Shiori Hibiki informed Yuuka that she was leaving SEES, and as such, Yuuka offered her a bed, desk, and a half-a closet in her room at the Chiba Residence in Port Island. Shiori agreed, and the pair have come even closer, sisters now. Shiori will be moving in shortly, with the agreement of her parents. Yuuka loves her friend deeply, and will try to protect her; this is just one of the ways of doing so. As well, Yuuka finally admitted her suicidal depression to Hinata Itoh, who promptly broke down and expressed to Yuuka her joy and how much she looks up to the second year, which startled her... and she promised not to run away anymore, and has Hinata's full help to try to fix her issues. Shortly after this, Yuuka admitted something rather personal to Shiori Hibiki. What happened afterward was a blasting denial of someone Yuuka had once upon a time liked a great deal. Hatred, anger, and sheer just-gave-up came through her tone, although she made a promise not to hurt someone else... someone who had been there the whole time, through everything... a happy promise, indeed. However, Shiori Hibiki would reveal this to Blaise Cameron, who confronted Yuuka after school. What happened afterward is known to only those two; however, what happened after that is very well known. Losing control over her temper and attitude, Yuuka destroyed a good part of the classroom, not breaking anything, just trashing it. As a result, Yuuka was suspended from school for the rest of the week, and it created a permanent mark on her record. As such, Yuuka's life was thrown into a tailspin. Grounded to the dorms, home, or the Church of the Holy Trinity, not at school, losing all that education time -- it broke her. It broke her. She started to wonder what if what he said was true... and as she thought about it, it led to a ...
Shortly afterwards, Yuuka fled to the Church of the Holy Trinity. Confronted there by Shiori Hibiki, Yuuka finally lost her temper, sobbing out her anger, and attempted suicide. With helpful interference from Shiori and her personae, Pheme, Yuuka was stopped; since then, she's been in a state of half-dazed tears. How this reacted with her friends, only time will tell, but it seems Shiori told some people, as the day after, at home, Sayaka Takuma confronted her about it as well. Yuuka isn't sure what's going on, but there has been one insistent thread in all her talks: don't hurt or confront Blaise Cameron about it! The question is, will any of her friends listen to her? Not that she expected, or really wanted them too. Lucas came down hard on Yuuka, and it startled her that she had hurt /him/ of all people. When Hinata Itoh found out about it, Yuuka was devestated by her reaction and ended up getting trailed by Kanon Itoh after this revelation. She's spoken with Himeru Namikawa, Akatsuki Enda, and so many more about this, and nothing makes sense yet... /nothing/. She closes her eyes, every night, trying to figure it out, what she can do to help...
Help comes, though, in many forms. Igor and Elizabeth called her to the Velvet Room, and what was revealed was the path ahead of her in simple tarot cards. Yuuka freaked and departed. Around this time, a new SEES member, first-year Gekkoukan student Hitoshi Taniguchi had wandered into the dorm. They quickly became acquantices, and naturally, when he ended up lost in the Dark Hour getting chased by a Lurker, who attempted to chomp Hinata, Itsuka, Akatsuki, Aigis, and eventually Junpei as well as Hitoshi and Yuuka. Hitoshi evoked his Persona, Calliope, and since then, Yuuka's fallen into studying mode for exams....
Second semester exam scores bombed. Whoops. Yuuka didn't really care, although her parents never found out about it at first. Instead, Yuuka went into the third and final semester of her second year at Gekkoukan High School resolving to do what she must, because she can. During one night out alone, Yuuka was ambushed by Akimoto, or the Shining Priestess of Strega. It forced her to run and escape, except the door she chose to dive into led to the Abyss of Time underneath the Tartarus'. There, Yuuka found Kazuo, Tohya, Tomomi, Reid O'Lennon, and Yosuke, each having found their own door and entered through it. SEES, KDA, NWO, and everyone else found them a couple of days later, and that...
Is when they all broke time. (Aside from Tohya and Yosuke.)
Yuuka broke time that at a major point in her life where she just meekly said 'yes sir,' she said 'no sir.' As a result, her alt-universe self was a major j-pop star by the name of Yuume-Mi, who had a persona by the name of Euterpe, a Grecian Muse, and didn't require a Persona. She willingly gave herself up to Himeru, Ritsue, and Kanon and the hands of SEES once it was found out she had broken time, and a day later, handed her key over to Thora Kobayashi, who gave it to Yosuke Hanamura, who gave it to Souji Seta, who gave it to Takahisa Kandori, who gave it to Minato Arisato, who fixed time with all six keys.
It was then revealed that the High Priestess Greater Arcana Shadow had been behind it all. That revelation sent Yuuka into a funk, and since then, she's done very little of anything outside of homework and studying, now that third semester exams have finished. What happens next, no one is sure of, however, it'll be sure that things are going to be very, very different from now on....
