Name: Everyone needs a good name!

Gender: Self-explanatory, except perhaps for Jun Kurosu. Your choices here are Male, Female, Neuter, or Plural (for special cases).
+
2. CHARACTER BRIEF

Faction: What main group that you belong to. Valid choices are the NWO, Strega, Darkside, SEES, the KDA, and the ever-popular Unaffiliated.

Job: What do you do? This could be as humorous (Bear In The TV) or serious (Magazine Editor) as you like.
+
2a. Character Name - Your character's name.

Arcana: This choice is very important for all characters. It plays a large role for both Persona and non-Persona users, due to the Social Link and Generic Persona Systems. See News Tarot and the associated files for more information. If you can't decide, just let us know and we'll pick one for you.
+
2b. Feature Character or Original Character - A Feature Character (FC) is an application for a pre-existing character drawn from one of the list of available characters of PMUSH and feature in one of the canon Persona franchise games and select other sources. An Original Character (OC) is an application for a character of your own devising.

Persona: What is the name of your character's main Persona? If your character doesn't use a Persona, put in 'None'.
+
2c. Gender - Male or Female.

Quote: A small bit of dialogue that your character would be heard saying. "..." is not a valid quote, even for the main characters.
+
2d. Age - How old is your character?

Profile: This should have a few sentences describing the character's personality, as well as their background if it happens to be important.

Skills: You can summarize notable personality traits, quirks, or background points about your character here. They should be capitalized like the title of a book, and don't need to be entirely serious. Having a few is good, but you don't have to have more than three or four.
+
3. CHARACTER INFORMATION

2. History - Carve your story into the Agastya Tree?
+
3a. History - The history of your character represents is the /story/ of your character up to now. The history of a character can be thought of as a listing of the persons, forces, and events that have shaped a character. While we don't expect a book here, detail is appreciated.

In this section, detail the character's history. This history may be longer for some characters than others. You don't have to go into too much detail, but an overview of the important parts of the character's life will be fine. This will be especially important in case your character is a Persona-user, as their history and how they react to it in their personality will have a definite bearing on the kind of Persona they will receive.
+
The baseline of what history requires are the following: information on your character's family (or lack thereof), when and how they acquired their Persona or Shadow if they have one, and how they joined their faction if they're a member of one. If they're in school, where do they attend, and in what year are they? If they have a job, what is it? And, of course: where do they live now, and around how long have they been there?

 +
3b. Personality - The personality section of your application is a place to show what sort of person the events in their life have made your character become. This section is very important, since it affects what their Arcana is, and if they have one, what their Persona or Shadow is.

3. Personality - "Let's positive thinking!"
+
Like history, the personality section has a few required points. We must see information on: your character's strengths, your character's flaws, your character's general temperament and motivations, any notable driving conflicts, and a note about their hopes, goals, or dreams.

Even more than most MU*s, due to the nature of the theme this section is essential. This is what justifies the Arcana you have chosen in your profile, as well as will help determine the nature of the Persona that Persona-wielders use. You don't have to have a perfectly sane character - far from it, as the entire basis of Persona is is how their users wither triumph and grow past their flaws and become better for it, or sink down and become ever more terrible with the addition of their new power.
+
Other helpful details to get you started are their thoughts about the world and the people in it, what evokes emotion in them, what they think about the supernatural, and, if they know about them, what they think of Personas, Shadows, and/or demons. If they are in a faction, include what they think of it. Include as much detail as is required to fill the necessary points above and as much more as you think will help you play the character.

Tell us what makes your character tick. What is their general temperament? What do they think about the world and the people in it? What evokes emotion in them, if anything? What are their goals, hopes, or dreams? What motivates them to do things, either good or bad? What do they think about the supernatural and occult? If they know about Personas and Shadows, what do they think of them?
+
3c. Arcana - Like in the Persona games, the Arcana is a representation of your character's archetype in terms of the Tarot's Major Arcana cards (news tarot). It is used in PMUSH's Social Link mechanic. A short explanation of how the Arcana traits ties into the character's history and personality should be here. Please see NEWS TAROT for more information.

You don't have to answer this like a test, but as the central part of the application, the more and better information you give here, the easier it will be to play your character in the world of Persona. Just remember that quantity is not the same as quality, though don't hold back on account of length, either. Write as much here as you feel you will need.
+
3d. Persona - If your character is a Persona-User or Shadow-Possessed, or will be gaining a Persona or Shadow soon, please state what it is here and provide a brief explanation for why it suits your character. See NEWS PERSONA or NEWS SHADOW-POSSESSION for more information. If your character does not have a Shadow or Persona, leave this section blank.

 +
3e. Background Assets - If your character has any special assets or abilities not covered otherwise, this is the section to request them. Whatever it is, let us know what your character has (if anything), and describe the scope of these assets and what restrictions if any are on their use. Examples include access to money (from an allowance or a job), knowing someone who's willing to take packages somewhere, or special contacts through parents or friends.

4. Faction - "I knew Kandori was up to no good from the moment I met him at a cocktail party!"

There are many outlooks on how to best harness the powers of Persona and Shadow in the world... Or not. There are as many factions as there are outlooks. Why does your character belong to their particular faction? What makes them loyal? Or are they loyal at all? While we're at it, what does your character think of the other factions?
+
4. STATISTICS

5. Combat - "It's Whoop-Ass Time!"
+
In this section, provide information on character statistics. Generalities are all that are needed.

And now, the fun part.
+
You will be given the opportunity to stat your character yourself once approved if they are an OC. This may be waived if desired. Regardless, we still need you to provide the basic information below.

This is where you detail what your character is capable of and what their Persona can do. For people apping for OCs and OFCs, they can answer these questions with numbers. Even so, a description of what you are looking for is handy because this will allow us to help you get the basic idea of what you're looking for. Players apping for PFCs will only need the description, as they have stats already, though these like anything else are subject to modifications.
+
4a. Personal Stats - What kind of person is this character? Are they fast? Tough? Strong? These statistics should be informed by the history and personality of the character. See NEWS STATS for more information.

Your character stats will be simple and straightforward. You can generally put direct stats down there without much trouble, and we've provided the guidelines for that in the stat newsfiles. For Personae, you're going to want to give as detailed a description as you feel is appropriate. There might be some resubmissions necessary if you want to do everything manually, so asking for the general idea of what you want will get you on the game much faster. If you feel something is wrong even after we do it, you are welcome to contact us and request changes.
+
4b. Weapon - A character in Persona will have a weapon of choice. Note that firearms are pretty rare in Japan and this is reflected on PMUSH. Improvised or archaic weapons predominate. Name the preferred weapon and give it a class from one of: Piercing, Strike, and Slashing. See NEWS WEAPONS for more information.

 +
4c. Special Ability - Every character has a special ability that can be used via the EX Meter in combat. It can be mundane or have a touch of the supernatural to it if the character is a Persona-User or Shadow-Possessed. Specials can be offensive, defensive, supportive, healing, or debuffing in nature. Briefly describe it here and give it a name.

5a. Personal Stats - "Don't Think, Feel!"
+
4d. Persona/Shadow Stats - What kind of Persona/Shadow does the character have (if any)? Is it fast? Tough? Strong? This section will be informed by the Persona/Shadow section of the application. See NEWS STATS for more information. You should also generally describe the sort of abilities the Persona or Shadow has. See NEWS ELEMENTS and NEWS ABILITIES for details on what might be possible. If you are planning to have your character gain a Shadow or Persona in the near future, you should complete this section even if they are currently without one. This section can otherwise be left blank.

What kind of person is this character? Are they fast? Tough? Strong? What kind of weaponry do they use? What kind of signature attack might they have?

This section, you're going to tell us what your stats are: Strength, Magic, Agility, Endurance, and Luck. They run on a scale from 1-99, and most people will not have more than 275 points between them. If you feel like you should have more, allocate 275 and then tell us why you believe you should have more. Stats under 40 or over 70 must be justified in the application.
+
5. ADDITIONAL FINGER INFORMATION

You have 425 points to distribute between HP and SP. SP fuels all of your non-basic attacks, so choose wisely. Average HP and SP divide is 300/125, and unusual distributions will be asked to be justified.

Additionally, tell us what kind of weapon you are using and what type it is (Strike, Slash, or Piercing).
+
5a. Faction - The group your character will belong to. Current valid choices are: NWO, Darkside, SEES, KDA, D4, and Kagutsuchi. For characters not in any of those groups, Unaffiliated exists. For more information on these groups, please see the relevant newsfiles.

Also, you get access to a special attack which can be used once per battle. You can choose any single or double Element for the attack. For example, Jin possesses a Grenade attack which is Fire-based. You can choose to inflict a status with it, but it will deal less damage directly if you choose this option. Additional options include healing or support Special abilities.
+
5b. Concept - What is your character's basic concept? This can be as humorous (Bear In the TV) or as serious (High School Student) as you like.

As a note--you are not required to give specifics for statistics, and in fact we recommend (especially for new appers unfamiliar with our combat system) that you give us generalities, priorities, and descriptions rather than hard numbers.
+
5c. Profile - This should have a few sentences about the character. A good way to think about this section is what everyone else would know about the character second or third-hand, including rumors, fame, general personality, and some basic background.

5b. Supernatural Abilities - "Persona! Persona! Call out your Persona!"

If your character is a Persona user, what Persona do you feel fits your chararacter's personality and history? If you want to pick a specific Persona, detail what it is, its general stat tendencies, and what types of Abilities it would have. If you want us to pick it, feel free to suggest a preferred mythological source and we will try to match one up with you as best as possible.
+
6. FINISH AND SENDING

You can give us specifics if you want, but we cannot guarantee that you will be given exactly what you ask for. And, as noted in Section 5a, we in fact recommend giving descriptions, themes, and priorities (what do you want your character's Persona to /do/?) rather than specific attacks or other statistical details, especially for new appers.

Shadow-Possessed answer the question functionally the same way, but their 'Personas' tend to be a darker or less controlled type than Personas are.

6. Background Assets And Miscellany - Mark danced crazy!

What kind of background resources does your character have access to? Does he own a business? Does he have an inheritance? Pull at the local supermarket? A group of good friends? Perhaps he is Famous On The Internet. Whatever it is, let us know what your character has (if anything), and describe the scope of these assets and what restrictions if any are on their use.

Additionally, if they have any unusual abilities or skills that don't affect your stats, tell us about them here.

Due to the nature of the MUSH, don't be concerned if an application (especially an original character) requires additional dialogue with an admin before approval.

1. PLAYER INFORMATION

1a. Personal Information - Please give us your real name, usual personal email address, and age. Please note: you must be 18 or older to play on PersonaMUSH.

4. STATISTICS

In this section, provide information on character statistics. Generalities are all that are needed.

You will be given the opportunity to stat your character yourself once approved if they are an OC. This may be waived if desired. Regardless, we still need you to provide the basic information below.
