Mikage-Cho seems to have vanished, leaving the far more mundane city of Lunarvale to resume operations once again. The normal people of Lunarvale reappear where they have been this entire time, not even cognizant that two weeks have passed. To them, they had simply lived their life in a forgetful, uneventful haze. They don't seem to understand the incredible adventure that happened or how close Japan and the world beyond came to destruction. The Nimitz-class carrier Harry S. Truman, 500 miles off the coast of Japan, gets emergency orders to pull back and return to US waters.
The chaos of the past weeks becomes buried in more mundane items. The news, after reporting the restoration of Lunarvale, seems to almost aggressively bury the incidence of the Lunarvale Crisis. Within weeks, the reports are even gone from media archives. ambassador Thorman goes ominously silent, and is said to have taken a leave of absence to head back to America. His position is being filled on a temporary basis by Jacob Wells, his top aide.
But you know for sure. You helped save the world from either nuclear war, or something even worse.
