Confidentiality (SEES)

Policy on confidentiality matters, that all SEES members should know.

The IC policy, on which all SEES members are briefed when they join, is that they are not to reveal any information regarding SEES, Kirijo Group, the Dark Hour, Personas, or Shadows to any individuals not in/affiliated with SEES. As far as the public is aware, SEES is nothing more than a social student organization affiliated with Gekkoukan, and that cover needs to be maintained.

Given the secretive nature of SEES, leaking information to people who are not in SEES or on the approved ally list (Roster (SEES)) is frowned upon and ICly punishable. These things should certainly not be discussed in normal conversation; even if you OOCly know the char 'will be in SEES soon anyway,' ICly you should know not to reveal anything without prior authorization. As regarding some common situations:

• In the event someone is discovered in the Dark Hour, they should be protected, brought back to the dormitory if necessary to protect them or treat injuries, but not permitted into any restricted areas and not told any more than they need to be until SEES leadership decides whether or not to pursue them as a recruit. A report should be made on the occurrence so this determination can be made.

• In the event an uninvolved person stumbles into a conflict between SEES and other aware organizations (such as Strega), and overhears information about SEES, a report should be made about the occurrence and the individual in question should be told to keep what happened secret: preferably with minimum release of additional information.

This is by no means a bar to OOC planning to inform a character, or to bring a certain character into SEES. On an OOC level, the facheads are certainly not going to be stringent and not let you tell people anything, ever. However, you need to let them know OOCly, and to ICly request the proper authorizations to release info. Leaking information freely without authorization will likely lead to IC punishment. Keep in mind that the general rule of thumb re: information for SEES is on a need-to-know basis.
