Profile and Skills
Kasumi is a first-year at Gekkoukan High School. She is a good student and very compassionate. Her father owns a small bookstore near the high school and Kasumi is employed there. Due to the loss of her mother and half-brother at a very young age she became very shy and withdrawn from others. Until recently, she spent the majority of her life hidden away, obsessed with books and writing. It's those obsessions that led her to delve into the occult and ultimately proved to be her spiral into the rabbit hole of the Dark Hour and Persona's. She regretted gaining the knowledge but at the same time craved more information. Kasumi rejected the power she had but ultimately was forced into submitting to her persona in her TV dungeon. She gets along with pretty much anyone and a bit naively believes that everyone possesses a certain degree of kindness. It still takes a lot to penetrate the carefully formed wall but there are those who have been able to find the weaknesses.

History
Kasumi is the daughter of Port Island bookstore owner, Fumihiko. She has lived with just her father for most of her life. Growing up she was an extremely social and happy child. Her talents as a writer were recognized even at a young age. However, when she was 8 years old, she witnessed a horrible crime. It caused her to withdraw and she was afraid to talk to other people. For awhile, she did not actually remember what she saw but when she was 13 she had a flashback to the incident. She remembered everything that she saw. Feeling extremely guilty about it she retreated even further into her reading and writing.

Now it is 3 years later. Kasumi is about to start as a first-year at Gekkoukan High School. She is trying to get to know others and leave her comfort zone. However, her greatest underlying fear is that people will somehow find out about her past. The secret that she holds is even hidden from her own family and her father even. She hates hiding the truth but she cannot bear to see what would happen if he found out. Therefore, even though she may seem like she is sociable on the outside, she has a secret that is keeping her from really letting others see who she is.

Personality
Kasumi is fairly shy and awkward in a lot of situations. Before she started high school she spent the majority of her time alone and away from others. Her only friends in the world were her cat and her father. However, shortly before starting at Gekkoukan her father started pushing her to get out and meet more people. She branched out a bit and since then has made quite a few friends and acquaintances. A few people have gotten rather close to her and now know small elements of her past history. No one knows the whole story and Kasumi intends to keep it that way as long as possible. Something in her really does want to share the burden with someone but she is not at the point where that can happen. Perhaps one day someone will be able to break down the wall that she has put up.

Kasumi loves books and writing. Before she played the Persona game and experienced the Dark Hour her main reading and writing interests gravitated towards the occult and supernatural. After finding out the reality of the world before her she has since stopped pursuing those subjects. She has not been writing much lately either due to her lack of confidence and her focus being on other things. She was invited to join the Literature Club but she has not been to a meeting yet.

Persona
"Thou art I, I am thou!"

Once awakened, Kasumi's persona will be Marlinchen. Marlinchen is a beautiful woman. She is wearing a beautiful long white dress. Around her head is a flower headband and she is wearing red shoes. She has pale skin and red lips.

Marlinchen comes from the story of the Juniper Tree. The story goes that a woman wanted a child as red as blood and as white as snow. She finally gives birth to a boy and dies shortly after his birth. The father remarries and they have a child together and name her Marlinchen (some versions call her Marjory). The mother loves her daughter dearly but does not want the son to get the family fortune. She kills him and makes Marlinchen think that it is her fault. Through a twisted series of events the stepmother is killed and the son is 'rebirthed.'

Resonance: Anyone who can sense resonances will probably feel a bit of innocence but a very deep sense of inner strength. For smells they will get the scent of apples or perhaps juniper berries... maybe a bit of both. Sound-wise her resonance would portray strongly the sound of birds singing a beautiful happy tune. Though if she is threatened or fearful the sounds would be much less cheerful.

0 - THE FOOL:

I - THE MAGICIAN:

II - THE HIGH PRIESTESS:
Maki Sonomura: Kasumi has ran into her a couple times. She met two girls named Aki and Mai through Yoh at the Bake sale and later ran into Aki the night that she was in the Dark Hour. She finds it very odd that the girls highly resemble Maki. Are they sisters or something? Maki has given Kasumi two hugs since they met. Even though it was awkward for her and Kasumi did not really understand the display of friendship she did not resist.

Shiori Hibiki: They have met a few times and Shiori was there during Kasumi's first Dark Hour experience. She answered some of her questions and Kasumi was thankful.

Masumi Hayashi: Even though they have only met one time, she is listed here because Kasumi felt a connection to her that cannot be explained. They had a very intriguing conversation about the occult. She is someone that Kasumi would like to talk in more depth too. However, Kasumi has also recently found out that Masumi is shadow-possessed. She doesn't see Masumi as being dangerous but was warned to be careful around her.

III - THE EMPRESS:
Mitsuru Kirijo: Kasumi met her randomly in Port Island and she knows that she is a member of SEES as well as the heiress to the Kirijo group. After Mitsuru found out about Kasumi having the potential and experiencing the Dark Hour she offered to tell her more about SEES. Kasumi got her phone number from Aigis after their first meeting. They have had a couple of rather grim but meaningful meetings. She thinks that Mitsuru possesses a wisdom that is beyond her years. Kasumi mentioned that she had lost her mother and brother and Mitsuru shared that she too had lost her mother at a young age. It strengthened the bond that Kasumi felt towards her. Even though they have only known each other for a short time Kasumi trusts her in the same way that she trusts Himeru...maybe even more. Mitsuru was involved in Kasumi's dungeon rescue most recently.

IV - THE EMPEROR:
Akatsuki Enda: Kasumi has run into him a few times. She doesn't really know too much about him but he has offered her quite a bit of advice, being a former Gekkoukan student and all. He also has an uncle that Kasumi would like to meet because he is a well-known author. Hopefully one day that will happen. It is something that she actually looks forward to, despite not knowing if it would actually be possible. Regardless, he seems nice enough.

V - THE HIEROPHANT:
Shinjiro Aragaki: Their first meeting was a bit odd. He waited for her outside her job after finding out that she had the potential from Himeru. He seemed to be focused on making her understand exactly what she was getting into. However, she possibly surprised him by promising him that she would not get involved as long as she could avoid it. He also shocked her by actually showing her his Persona. To date it is the only Persona she has ever seen. Their second meeting was just as awkward. She was able to ask him some pressing questions about having a persona. She got some relief from some nagging issues. She still finds him a bit creepy but he seems like the type who has seen a lot.

VI - THE LOVERS:

VII - THE CHARIOT:
Aigis: When they first met, Kasumi wasn't really sure what to think about Aigis. However, after numerous meetings they have formed a small bond. Aigis enlightened her about the supernatural and SEES. Kasumi had a suspicion that Aigis was not 'normal' and through her TV Dungeon found out that she appears to be a robot. Surprisingly, she was not really freaked out by it but is definitely intrigued.

VIII - JUSTICE:
Nanako Dojima: A very sweet little girl that Kasumi has run into a couple times. She doesn't know much about her but she seems very independent for her age.

IX - THE HERMIT:
Jin Shirato: Strega member. Only ran into him once on Shirakawa Blvd. but that was enough. Kasumi got a very bad impression of him the one and only time she saw him.

X - THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE:

XI - STRENGTH:
Yoh Yamagatani: Kasumi has had numerous meetings with Yoh. He has given her a few gifts: Chocolate for White Day, a purse for her birthday and most recently he won her a Jack Frost Doll from the Crane Game. She likes him as a friend despite being minorly annoyed at his always cheerful attitude, mainly when it comes to the Dark Hour. She expressed concern numerous times to him and others that he would get hurt one day. It seems as if her concerns were true when he disappeared recently. She did not see him for about two weeks but found out that it had something to do with Strega. Right before mid-terms, she ran into him at the Shrine. The relief she felt was impressed upon him in the form of a rather huge hug. While she still doesn't know exactly what happened to him she is just thankful that he is okay. He also helped save her from her own TV dungeon.

XII - THE HANGED MAN:
Baofu: The first time Kasumi ran into him (literally), they had a brief conversation. He was pretty polite although he was kind of weird she thought. The next time they ran into each other was at the Port Island station. Somehow he knew that she visited the Darkside boards. It freaked her out a bit but she did not really have time to talk to him in depth.

XIII - DEATH:
Seiichi Miyamoto: Ran into him a couple of times. Kasumi thinks it's pretty awesome that he is a musician. Their last meeting he introduced her to his three kittens and they talked briefly about the Dark Hour. Kasumi confessed to him that she didn't think that she was strong enough to be involved in all the supernatural stuff. He pretty much told her that she had no choice.

The Masked Man: Kasumi only ran into the Masked Man once. She was intrigued by his appearance. He was the first person ICly to really get under her skin when he spoke about previous incidents involving her friends. Mitsuru later told her how dangerous he was and to stay away from him as much as possible. Unexpectedly, Kasumi ran into him at Junes. She willingly went with him to some kind of room and it led to her being pushed into a TV.

Minamo Takagawa: Nyamo. Another first year at Gekkoukan. She transferred after the term started. Kasumi has met her a couple of times the last time that they met they talked about the occult and the Persona Game. She thinks that Minamo has been out in Dark Hour from their conversation. Kasumi sent a text message to Himeru out of concern that something would happen to her if she stayed out late and ended up in the Dark Hour again. It is not known if she is awakened or not.

XIV- TEMPERANCE:
Hitoshi Taniguchi: After a brief encounter at the Strip Mall, Kasumi found she has a couple of things in common with Hitoshi, books and writing. He is much more dedicated to his writing than she will ever be and that is something that she greatly admires. Despite their meetings she still knows very little about him.

XV - THE DEVIL:
Itsuka Mizuhara: A second-year Gekkoukan student that Kasumi has run into a couple of times. Itsuka shares her interest in books and writing. She also invited her to join the Literature Club on their first meeting and blatantly asked Kasumi about her involvement in the Dark Hour. They are acquaintances at best right now.

XVI - THE TOWER:
Himeru Namikawa: A second-year Gekkoukan student that Kasumi has started forming a friendship with. She was at her birthday party. Himeru calls her kōhai. Kasumi wasn't sure about her at first but after a few meetings and talking to her one on one she realizes that they will probably be friends. Himeru possesses wisdom that she finds very admirable. Also Himeru was the first person who actually answered her questions about the rumors... even if it was reluctantly. Himeru pretty much turned Kasumi's world upside down with one conversation. She was also there the night Kasumi played the Persona game and the first time she ended up in the Dark Hour. Kasumi's level of trust and respect for her is pretty high. Himeru also was a part of the team that investigated Kasumi's disappearance and subsequently was involved in her rescue from the TV world.

Thora Kobayashi: A Yasogami student that Kasumi ran into a couple of times. Thora led the investigation team when Kasumi was thrown into the TV. She also led the rescue team to save her from the TV World.

XVII - THE STAR:
Hinata Itoh: Kasumi first ran into this Itoh sister at the Lucky 7. She has since met her a couple other times. She likes her enthusiasm and energy. Hinata is a second-year at Gekkoukan and Hinata loved when Kasumi called her sempai. Their last meeting was a bit unpleasant and Kasumi found out about how Strega had hurt the Itoh family. Because of that meeting she admires Hinata's enthusiasm even more. For someone to be that cheerful despite everything she had been through shows a lot about her character and strength. Kasumi was surprised to see her involved in the TV dungeon rescue but was very happy she was there.

Teddie: A cute little bear that got hurt in Kasumi's TV Dungeon. :( That's all Kasumi knows about him right now.

XVIII - THE MOON:

Keitaro Nagasaku: So far he is the only other first year Gekkoukan student Kasumi has met. They have met quite a few times socially and Kasumi has formed a pretty good relationship with him. One night she opened up to him by showing him a picture of her family before the tragedy. Their relationship got a better because of this. He doesn't say a whole lot but Kasumi and him seem to share a part of their past that involves deep tragedies. Hitoshi threw a Showa Day party where Kasumi found out that Keitaro was a member of Strega. After talking to numerous people about it and finding out that Keitaro had, in fact, helped rescue Yoh, she believes that he can be changed and is simply confused due to his past.

XIX -THE SUN:

XX - JUDGEMENT:
Kanon Itoh: While Kanon is older than Kasumi she still likes her, especially her tattoos. Kasumi invited her to her birthday celebration even though they had only met one time previously. Kasumi has run into her a few times since and she was there the night Kasumi played the Persona game. She looks up to Kanon and admires her for some reason. She wants to convince her dad to let Kanon give her a Sakura tattoo in memorial of her mother.

Nagisa Renge: Strega member. Ran into on Shirakawa Blvd. Kanon warned her against talking to Nagisa. However, secretly Kasumi wonders if she is much different than Keitaro. Just because she is a Strega member doesn't necessarily mean she is completely evil right? Whatever the case, Kasumi reserves final judgement. Her recent meeting with Nagisa was an interesting one. Despite other things that happened during that meeting Kasumi was a bit intrigued by the girl. Her interest was enough that she sought her out one evening on Shirakawa. They had a long conversation when Kasumi was made aware of more dangers of the world of Persona.
