IC TIME: Sunday, March 1st, 2010 at Chiba Household, Port Island:

Cut into a pretty, clean, middle-class living room, Japanese style. Sunday evening. A young girl in a Gekkoukan High School uniform, auburn and brown hair falling down to her knees as she hugs herself, a black messenger school bag hanging over her left shoulder with a flute case sticking out of it, stands in front of a tall, lean, whipcord of a man with black eyes and midnight black hair with a newspaper in hand and another piece of plain, white, letter-head'ed paper in the other. Zooming in onthe second piece of paper, the insignia of Gekkoukan High School can be seen.

"Yuuka, what the bloody gods were you thinking?" The man asks, black eyes flashing.

"Daddy, I'm sorry." Yuuka Chiba states, staring at the paper with second semester exam/over-all scores on it, having though she had it hidden SO WELL this whole time...

"Inacceptable, Chiba-san." Akinobu states calmly. "We do not pay tuition and let you stay at the dorms with your friends just so you can fail miserably when I KNOW you can pus--"

"I don't WANT to push myself!" Yuuka snaps, her voice breaking and going from soprano to alto as she speaks. "I'm NOT Risa-chan, I'm NOT mama, I'm not who they are! I LOVED studying when I could do it because no one expected it of me, I /loved/ knowing I had the time between that and my regular lessons to just do what I want too anymore! I don't have twenty-five hou--" She stumbles over this next sentence- "I don't have twenty-five hours a day to do homework, do my musical studies and study for exams! I'm /tired/!" Yuuka starts crying.

Akinobus' black eyes blaze momentarily, then he points at the stairs. "Go to your room until you can talk to me respectfully like a daughter should to her father." He states. "Your exam scores had best be up, or your moving back home, Yuuka Chiba."

"I'D RUN AWAY FIRST!" Yuuka screams at him, temper flaring as she grabs the paper out of his hand and runs for the front door instead of her room. "Because you don't ever listen to me anyways, so what's the point, dad? HUH?" A slam of the front door, and a plump, small, older woman appears in the living room, a tray of tea for three in her hands.

"... Akinobu, dear, what happened?" She asks, Her voice is rich, calm and quiet.

He looks up, and looks at the door. "I may have lost us our daughter, Usagi..."

She stares at him, and pain crosses both of their faces.

IC TIME: Monday, March 2nd, 2010 at Chiba Household, Port Island:

Black eyes trail emerald ones as Yuuka Chiba, dressed in her school uniform with a flute case in one hand and her backpack over her shoulder, walks past the study on the second floor of the Chiba household. Akinobu Chiba watches his daughter walk past, clearing his throat.

As he does so, she turns, and drops him a formal bow, bending over deeply to stare at her feet. She holds it. Time passes as his gaze does not fall from his daughters hair, before his own head tilts. "Yuuka." His voice is deep, yet kind.

"... f-- chichi-ue..." Yuuka uses the most honorable and respectable honorific for 'father' as she stands back up, pain deep in her emerald eyes. Akinobu and Yuuka consider each other for the longest time, both sighing at the same moment.

"... Yuuka." Akinobu whispers. "Please..."

"Chichi-ue." Yuuka states, her voice calmly cold. "I will see you this weekend." She drops him another bow, and walks out. Pain returns in Akinobus' black eyes as he leans against his chair in the study.

IC TIME: Tuesday, March 3rd, 2010 at SEES Dorm, Yuukas' room:

Bitter laugher escapes a set of pursed lips as Yuuka Chiba considers the screen on her laptop. The glare from it glints off of her glasses as she adjusts her legs, shifting to be sitting with her legs propped up, staring at the two questions she just marked. More bitter laugher escapes, just briefly, before she finally answers them, tears trickling down her small, pale cheeks.

ARE YOU OK? = No
WILL YOU BE? = Probably not

More laughter escapes her lips that finally dissolves into soft crying...
