Okina - Okina City - January 30th, 2010. IC Time: 7:00 PM.

(((Yoh Yamagatani poses.)))
A beautiful sunset bathes Okina City in it's orange glow.

Though the cold wind bites at those outside, people still go about their lives as though it wasn't there in most cases. Of course, some just detest the cold, and weave in and out of shops just to stay warm. Others can be found without a jacket, embracing the cold nature winter brings. Either way, it is another day in this commonplace, large droves of people going to and from their destinations without a care in the world. At least, most people are.

While not necessarily a native to Okina city, Yoh Yamagatani finds himself here once again. He has been passing through this crossroads of his wonderful home country. It has been a pretty dull day so far for the boy. Nothing happening, working on the shrine, no fights for him to dive in on and swing crazily at people, nothing. Lame.

The boy appears to be toting a few pieces of thick lumber, about the size of staircase steps, and a large bag of plant fertilizer. The weight doesn't seem to phase him though; sure he is sweating, but he doesn't appear tired at all. He does however stop near a small reflecting pool in the general area of the shopping area. As he stands there, he mumbles something to himself, and flicks a coin into the water after setting down the timber for a moment. As the coin connects, ripples spread from the point where currency meets liquid. It was a rather relaxing sight to the teenager.

(((Shirou Sekigawa poses.)))
"You know... sweating in the cold is supposed to be rather bad for your health; you should have gotten a hand cart or something at the very lease, Yamagatani-san..." Shirou Sekigawa smirks just a bit, somehow appearing nearby Yoh. Actually he's been tailing him for a few minutes, using some things he's picked up from the internet; Detective in Training it seems.

"How are you tonight?" He asks, more normally.

(((Reki Kurusu poses.)))
Reki Kurusu staggers through the streets of Okina. He looks tired, but that's about normal.

He's dressed in a denim jump suit, marked with his name, and again there's a little name tag marking 'Reki'. Apparently his job tonight was sanitation.

He does spy the familiar figures of Yoh and Shirou, this can't be coincidence. Once or twice maybe...several dozen times?

(((Yoh Yamagatani poses.)))
As Yoh stands there, he does wonder if what he is doing will make a difference? After all, after it is done, it could just fall back into disrepair, from not being visited at all still. It would be a shame if--

"Eep!" is probably the closest way to type the noise Yoh makes as he is spoken to suddenly out of the blue, completely breaking his train of thought. After a moment or two, he turns to his side, to find Shirou there! Wait, how did he sneak up on him? Creepy. "Sekigawa-san! How goes it, today?" Yoh says in his usually perky manner. Whether he meant to, or didn't mean to scare him didn't matter. He did it, so he got away with it. "I know, but I can't say I have one, unfortunately. Besides, it is a good workout." the boy sets down the fertilizer next to the wood planks beside him, figuring a chat would soon follow. Might as well take a break, right?

Who knows? Maybe Sekigawa would turn out to be another player for that strange game Wataru mentioned. Wouldn't hurt to ask.

(((Shirou Sekigawa poses.)))
Shirou smirks a little still, a little more faintly. It's hard to say that he ever actually /smiles/... like half of his face is kinda frozen. But not really. He shrugs a little bit to Yoh's question. "Been better, been worse. Just kinda going with the flow, ya know?" He looks at the stuff Yoh puts down.

"Working on that 'project' still, eh? Must be burning a bit of cash to get this done..." Reki hasn't been spotted yet, but the youth will probably /feel/ Shirou's resonance soon.

(((Reki Kurusu poses.)))
Reki Kurusu makes his way over towards the pair, "Sekigawa-sempai. Yamagatani-san... I trust this evening is finding you both well?"

(((Yoh Yamagatani poses.)))
Yoh nods casually to the teenager, whom he seems to run into constantly. Not that he really minded anymore. "Well, good to hear. At least it isn't anything bad, right?" After Shirou's second statement, he looks back to his supplies he was carrying, then back to his friend. "Well, it is, but I did get a few donations, here and there."

Strangely enough, just as Yoh said that, Reki walks up, whom happens to be the main contributor. He also happened to be one of the folks he was looking for! What luck! "Kurusu-san! There you are! How are you today?" The teenager spats out rather energetically. Imagine that, two people he could ask the question to! Hopefully they would be interested.

(((Shirou Sekigawa poses.)))
"Ha, didn't see you there, Reki-kohai." Shirou nods to Reki, smirking a little more now, as he stretches. "Yeah, nothing bad, no..." He yawns. "Just.... all that energy I've saved up the last few weeks are gonna be needed. Something's rotten in the city of Inaba, and I'm about to walk straight into the storm."

(((Reki Kurusu poses.)))
Reki Kurusu hrms, and blinks, "I excel at being beneath notice, Sekigawa-sempai..." He does blink at Shirou, "Something rotten? What do you mean?"

He looks over at Yoh again, "...and I am well Yamagatani-san...as well as can be expected."

He coughs softly.

(((Yoh Yamagatani poses.)))
Yoh nods to them both. At least they were fairing well. Somewhat anyway, as Shirou mentions something going down in Inaba. "Nnh. Weird crap happens in Inaba for me. I have seen so much there, going there kinda creeps me out."

After waiting a few moments, he pops a seemingly random question. "So, you guys busy anytime soon? I had a favor to ask." It was a long shot asking the two if they would play a game that he didn't even know the name to, much less know the child asking for folks to play that well. Eh, he figure he would make Wataru's day, since he seemed to have problems.

(((Shirou Sekigawa poses.)))
"...Yeah, best not to go there for a while, Yoh." Shirou says, dead serious. "And Reki... I'd try to avoid being out at night as much as possible... there's a potential escaped experiment out there, something dark and nasty." He can't say too much more. But saying probably /far/ too much himself.

He nods to Yoh. "I got time now... shoot."

(((Reki Kurusu poses.)))
Reki Kurusu frowns, "I live in Inaba..what is wrong, Shirou? Night? Escaped experiment?!" He frowns, "My mother goes out at night!!"

He does look at Yoh, "...I'm available if you need me for something but..." He fumbles for his cell phone, "I have to warn her! We have to tell the police!"

(((Yoh Yamagatani poses.)))
Yoh starts to speak about what he needed them for, but then Shirou mentions something. "Wait... what? Are you serious?" The boy just sulks. He groans as he talks. "Wonderful. Magic, and now this." Though he is taken back by Reki's outburst. That was... odd. Of course, so is an experimental monster or some crap.

"Well, thankfully I don't have to go there for a while now." Yoh shifts a bit as he looks over at Reki. Seems like he is really worried. Maybe a change of subject is in order. "Erm, anyway... there is a kid I know named Wataru, that wants to play some sort of game sometime soon. he didn't say what, but he needs players. He does seem like a kid that has problems or some kind, so I figure I would find folks to play!"

Yoh tries to sound upbeat despite the fact that he just learned AN ESCAPED EXPERIMENT IS IN INABA. Of course, at this point, he could believe something more farfetched.

(((Shirou Sekigawa poses.)))
Shirou just... looks a bit incredulously at Reki, and then Yoh. "...why are you two my friends again." he says under his breath, pinching the bridge of his nose as they overreact and underreact, respectively.

"Okay, Reki, drop the phone. Katsuragi-san already knows. Thus, 'm sure the rest of the police knows. And..." he waves a hand a bit. "You know... supernatural." He sighs a bit.

"Man, why do I try to bring these things up..."

(((Reki Kurusu poses.)))
Reki Kurusu frowns, and looks at his phone, "Will my Mom be okay?" He looks back at Shirou, and frowns, "You seem rather blase regarding this, Sekigawa-sempai..."

(((Yoh Yamagatani poses.)))
Yoh just rubs the back of his head. Looks like his idea to involve them in Wataru's game got derailed. Of course, mentioning an experimental monster to someone that lives in Inaba would freak them out badly. Eh, he will try again in a few when it dies down. Now the boy would just need to avoid an entire city, technically two, counting Port Island at night. And avoid people that use magic apparently. Well, this area of town sure is turning out to be fun.

"Okay, everything is cool. Just another thing for me to avoid." Yoh holds out his hands and takes a breath. "No worries, I will keep out of this thing as well. Of course, the list of things to avoid sure is growing fast..." He trails off for a moment. He figures he would let Reki and Shirou work out this trouble. Though, he couldn't help but feel bad for the kid.

(((Shirou Sekigawa poses.)))
"Reki, I've been through some seriously weird shit. A single Shadow-Possessed isn't gonna freak me out too badly." He lets the technical word slip, just not caring at this point. Yoh knows, Reki kinda knows, it doesn't matter.

"Just wanted to warn ya is all, just be careful. You can 'sense' now, kind of, right Reki? If you feel a bad aura, get out, kay? And... you had a question, right Yoh? Go ahead and ask, I kinda gotta run soon."

(((Reki Kurusu poses.)))
Reki Kurusu blinks, "Shadow possessed? Those are the ones taken over by that monster that lives inside of you, right?"

He sighs and nods, "Yes, I can pick up on it somewhat, but..." He frowns, "My mother can't..."

(((Yoh Yamagatani poses.)))
Yoh quirks a brow at some odd terminology popped by both teenagers. "Shadow-whatsit?" A moment later, he shakes his head rapidly and holds out a hand. "Never mind, never mind. Needa stay out of the whole magic thingy." Apparently Reki knew from the use of language toward him, so saying that shouldn't hurt a thing. Of course, what the heck did he mean by sense? Eh. Again, probably none of his business.

After a few moments, and pretending he didn't hear ANY of this, he speaks up with a bit of a half-assed smile. "Anywho... A friend I know is running some sort of game soon, and he needs players. I don't know the game, but it would probably make his day to have some folks come. Figure I would ask you guys, maybe snag your numbers so I can give you a ring if interested."

(((Shirou Sekigawa poses.)))
Shirou nods to Reki. "I don't think your mother's gonna be in danger. Situations like this, uuuusually it's only guys like us that are in danger. So... yeah." Shirou puts a lot of stock in the 'patterns' that he sees. Fate just has a way of working itself out....

"A game? Huh... err, sure, I guess. Like a roleplaying game, right? I remember this one from America called Trolls and Tunnels... was weird. But in a good way."

(((Reki Kurusu poses.)))
Reki Kurusu nods, "Its better that we're the ones in danger...we have the capabilities to defend ourselves... I remember seeing it in action, it was very strong..."

He looks back to Yoh, the thought that he's in danger and not his mother seems to have calmed him, "...a game? What sort of game?"

(((Yoh Yamagatani poses.)))
Yoh listens in for a small time to the two talk. He tilts his head at what Reki said. Defend themselves against magic? Could only mean oen thing. He couldn't help himself this time, it just seemed to spill out on an impulse. "So, you both can do that... that thing too I take it?" After a moment or two he snapped back into control, and looked between the two, as if he hadn't spoke yet.

"Well," Yoh started off with a bit of a better smile this time. "I don't know what game it is, I can assume it will be fun. He did seem like the fun sort of person." The boy takes out two sticky note papers out of his pocket, and a pen. He begins writing on them. "Well, if you both are interested, can I get your numbers? I will give you a call when it will go down."

(((Shirou Sekigawa poses.)))
Shirou nods just a bit to Yoh. "Y-yeah... I thought you figured that out before..."

(((Reki Kurusu poses.)))
Reki Kurusu blinks, "..I could show you mine if you'd like..." He hrms, looking at his feet, "I do believe a game would be a good way of building connections..."

(((Yoh Yamagatani poses.)))
Yoh rubs his chin. So, this is a lot bigger than use a few people. Either that, or he has an uncanny chance at meeting people with it for whatever reason. He first turns to Shirou. "Afraid I didn't Sekigawa-san, but that is okay. Your secret is safe with me." He then looks over to Reki. "Hrn. Maybe another time, Kurusu-san. Some time more private. Anyway, do not worry, I will keep out of this, since well, I don't have them."

He somehow felt relieved he knew more people with these weird powers. Of course, he still needed to stay safe. This was starting to become very hard.

Yoh holds out the notes. They enclosed his number. "Here you guys go. I will try to get in touch with you when the game is played!"

(((Shirou Sekigawa poses.)))
Shirou's about to say something, when his phone goes off. "Reki, I wouldn't just show off your personae... Shou was a special case." He shakes his head, quickly jotting down a note for both of them. His phone number "Yoh, give me a call when the game's afoot, yeah. Reki, keep in touch if something happens, alright?"

With that he answers the call, walking on off.

(((Reki Kurusu poses.)))
Reki Kurusu hrms, "Why do we keep it secret anyway? I mean the police know about it apparently...I can't imagine this sort of thing being kept secret for long..."

He does look at Yoh, and nods, writing down his number, "...oh, and Sekigawa-sempai, I've been unable to reach that police woman..."

(((Yoh Yamagatani poses.)))
Yoh thinks aloud for a moment as Shou and Reki talk. "Huh, what was it called now...? Nnh." He didn't quite catch what it was, but not like it mattered though. He takes both of the teenagers' numbers and records them in his phone. He then waves to Shirou as he leaves. "Have a nice night, Sekigawa-san!"

After yelling to Shirou, Yoh turns to Reki. It did seem strange that someone who seemed so down on his luck had the powers as well. "Well, I will make sure to contact you when the game is played. Expect anything, because I have no idea what the game actually is."

"Well," Yoh states to Reki. "I need to leave myself. Lots of work to do. Have a good one!" With that, the teenager dismisses himself. He picks up his supplies, and heads his own way, the target destination being the Lunarvale Shrine.
