"I am free to choose whatever my path is, as long as I walk it with the values that I believe are important."

Once known as the Spring Frog Cartel, Kagutsuchi is at its heart a business. If you desire it, they can help you out--for a price. It doesn't have to be money, either; materials, information, contacts, or services are all fair game, and they may try to buy or trade for those things too. The thing that binds them is the idea that they can do what they please, when they please, as long as they can work with one another. Even targetting another member of the group isn't out of the question if you play your cards right, though betrayal may bring its own retribution. This isn't a group of friends or compatriots; it's people using each other because that's what's convenient.

It's not about right or wrong, at least in theory--it's about the personal goals of whichever member is acting at the time. They've got some very shady connections, including the yakuza. Business is typically conducted via Contracts, which allow people who may not know or trust each other to cooperate towards whatever goal the Contractor specifies. Sometimes, these goals can even appear (or be) harmless or even altruistic; while dedicated to business, they aren't nearly calcified enough to be heartless. But just like they aren't afraid to 'help' to pursue their goals, some of them are not at all afraid to do harm for the same reasons.

Who Can Join?

Kagutsuchi is not too discriminating in who may join its ranks. It thus has a hodgepodge of members, from mercenaries to information brokers to criminals to high school students. There are three basic "sides": those working for the greater good who try to take the high road; those working for the greater good who do whatever it takes; and those working for their own agendas and profit.

Facheads

Masahiko Irie (Strength): Grandson of an infamous yakuza member, Masahiko Irie believes strongly in noblesse oblige and protecting the weaker and innocent. He tries to keep his yakuza connections distinct from Kagutsuchi to maintain its independence, and is willing to dirty his hands to keep "bad" from going to "worse." Attends Seven Sisters High.

Daisuke Itami (Devil): An eternally 21-year-old information broker operating out of Okina City, whose hobby of peeling people's layers away like an onion comes with an equal penchant for making them cry, Daisuke Itami supports Masahiko from the background. He takes care of personnel matters while Masahiko focuses on business.
