Trivia
  • Yisa is currently enrolled as a student at Sumaru University.
  • Her current major is pre-law, with a specialization in political science.
  • She's lived abroad for most of her life, spending time in France, Italy, and Japan. Her home, however, is in the Chechen Republic.
  • Consequently, she is fluent in an array of languages: French, Chechen, Russian, and Japanese. She has a nominal understanding of English and Italian.
  • But Yisa only ever swears in French.
  • Along with most Chechens, she was raised under the Hanafi school of Sunni Islam.
  • Having been brought up in the epitome of luxury, Yisa is almost inept in the most basic skills people acquire to care for themselves, such as cooking, cleaning, driving, and managing money. She has a lot to learn.
  • Yisa is presently the oldest of her siblings. Her elder brother is dead. She has two younger sisters and an infant brother.
  • She keeps mixed feelings concerning her family. Despite her deep love for them, her duty has brought her distance from her mother and younger sisters. Having grown up countries apart, they keep a civil correspondence but are unable to find a means to connect. Yisa misses them terribly; she would love to feel closer to her mother and sisters again. She and her father maintain the most confrontational of relationships: neither understands the other. She barely keeps any respect for him.
  • Of all her family, her great grandfather had the strongest lasting effect on Yisa's life. He ultimately passed away from old age a few years ago. She still misses him.
  • Despite her sizable family, Yisa is said to live alone, with most of her family located in Chechnya and France. She occupies an estate on the outskirts of Sumaru that contains several bedrooms and an empty horse stable on a decent parcel of land.
  • She owns a Persian cat. His name is Napoleon. He has a habit of jumping into boxes and not being able to get back out.
  • Yisa, for all her fearlessness, has issues with explosions. It's a symptom of growing up in an active war territory and having to hear them on a daily occurrence since her childhood. Subsequently, she's unable to completely habituate to them, compounded by her childhood injuries of having been caught in an explosive attack. Extremely loud sounds of a similar nature give her a tendency to spook in that "duck and cover" way. Even afterwards she'll remain rattled for a while.
  • Corpses and gore have equal effect. She can spook (mainly because of her own dual emotional reaction to the thing). Yisa absolutely cannot stand horror movies of any kind. Even the most campy ones scare her. She does her best to keep this her deepest, darkest secret hidden forever.
  • Yisa has the worst luck with her glasses. If she's not forgetting them somewhere, they get broken or destroyed in the most fantastic of ways. Thankfully she only really needs them to read.
  • Yisa can't cook at all. Certain people can attest to this.

"I'll stop when I'm dead."
Profile And Skills

Even at her young age, Miss Taimiev has already demonstrated herself as a formidable player on the international political theatre. A daughter of one of Chechnya's remaining few noble families and de facto heiress to her family's wealth, Yisa comes from old money and an older pedigree, bred from a proud bloodline of princely dignitaries and soldiers. She is especially famous for having survived a political ransom during her war-torn country's insurgency, only to escape and subsequently parry her captors, seeing an entire Russian forces platoon convicted for evidence of war crimes. Any further progress into her short political career, for the moment, has been curtailed by her sudden move to continue post-secondary studies in Japan as a foreign resident. Some say the decision was made for her -- on the behest of her family -- purely to keep the hot-headed, inexhaustible young woman out of trouble.

Persona and Resonance

"THOU art thee.

I am ME.

You have been the White Queen.

So shall I be.

Can we hear when SHE is near?

When yesterday shall arrive, you will already know. Once you remember tomorrow, then we both must go."

Perhaps one of Lewis Carroll's more mysterious characters, she is the total embodiment of chaos and instability, regarded even by the eccentric characters of Wonderland as someone who is "truly mad." The opposing foil of the Red Queen, the White Queen remains in a constant chessboard battle with her foe, even if her own piece makes moves that are deemed strange and foolish, if not completely illogical. But there is a method underlying the White Queen's madness, something few ever realize; even the astute Alice could only partially unravel the Queen's mysterious manner, learning that time crawled backward for the woman, and for whom the effect would always precede the cause.

In subsequent retellings of Lewis Carroll's Alice series, the White Queen has evolved somewhat from her befuddling role into the archetype of a warrior queen, albeit one who remains somewhat unstable and unsure of herself. Whether mad or not, she always opposes the fury of the Red Queen, assuming the duty for a host of reasons: she knows the role she must play in the conquests of Kings, she knows that is how the chessboard is played, and she knows that the Red Queen must be opposed since she both understands and shares the woman's darkness.

The White Queen has developed into a construct who, while appearing destined to be the heroine, strangely may not possess the talent or capacity for the role. She's neither truly virtuous nor truly noble, with the saving grace of her principles the only thing keeping her from becoming a Red Queen, herself.

  • SENSE: The sensation of standing in the eye of a storm. All around is a tempest of calamity and chaos, but here are the precious moments of safety and sanity. However, the eye is moving, and the madness must draw near...

  • SMELL: The many enticing smells of some basking royal's indulgent breakfast, such as tarts and buttered pastries, and most exquisite of all... raspberry jam.

  • SOUND: The slow, measured ticking of an ornate grandfather clock. The sound of clocks being wound and spun.

  • III - THE EMPRESS
    • Mitsuru Kirijo - Another old childhood friend dating back to charm school, Yisa's long lost touch with Mitsuru, which probably is the reason why she is so ardent to watch and protect the other young woman. Blissfully unaware to much of her friend's growth and maturity over the years, Yisa still thinks Mitsuru sheltered and delicately sensitive, and remains ever watchful of her, always ready to come to her quick defence. Their reunion was something left to be desired, after a miscommunication with Naomi led Yisa to believe Mitsuru was unmarried and pregnant.
    • Susumu Kamiya - Possibly one of the strangest people Yisa has ever met. She had a run-in with him on campus after he fell asleep in the girls' locker room. Thanks to him, she now owns a DVD copy of Battlefield Earth. Sumaru's greatest villain. :(
  • IV - THE EMPEROR
    • Nika Rumyantseva - Yisa ran into the young woman for the first time during Sumaru's Culinary Festival. The confrontation came to blows within seconds. Despite not even knowing the girl, Yisa cannot explain the inexplicable feeling of rage Nika incites in her. Inexplicable... and all-consuming. There's something about her presence Yisa cannot explain... something that feels both like hatred and home.
  • V - THE HIEROPHANT
    • Shinjiro Aragaki - Their meeting involved Yisa calling him out for a duel in response to Mitsuru's compromised honour, and him eloquently spitting his tea. Naomi calls him "SEES' Father" to Mitsuru's "SEES' Mother" which is more than a little suspicious!!

  • IX - THE HERMIT
    • Izo Imaizumi - Yisa has no idea how to quantify the Yakuza bodyguard, much less determine how she feels about him. On one hand, his pensive and peaceful nature has an incredible soothing effect on her fury. On the other hand, he'll still piss her off. Nevertheless, she's building a growing respect for Izo, and secretly enjoys his company; however, she's not yet so keen to seek it, or him, out, due to her running tally of completely embarassing herself in his presence. It also doesn't help that she's attracted to him. Yisa's happier repressing that.
  • X - THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE
    • Ran Itoh - Yisa met her briefly, the girl introducing herself as Shinjiro Aragaki's girlfriend. She's not sure what to make of her, but appears somewhat nervous, even wary, of the blonde's presence. She has some formidable Disney Eyes and the tendency to say very scandalous things!
  • XI - STRENGTH
    • Masahiko Irie - Yisa absolutely has no idea how to begin parsing someone like Masahiko. She's perceptive enough to realize that he acts strangely in her presence, but she has little idea why. Even worse, he has a habit of calling her "International Tsundere Maid", referring back to her unfortunate charity get-up during the Culinary Festival. Despite her skepticism, she seems inclined to believe he's a good person, perhaps even one with an interesting potential. Let's hope she never hears the song he wrote.
  • XIII - DEATH
    • Seiichi Miyamoto - Another comrade of Kirijo, Yisa had an unfortunate run-in with his Shadow, which culminated with her believing that he was actively defiling Mitsuru. It lead to her punching the real Seiichi straight in the face. The beginning of a beautiful friendship.
  • XVI - TEMPERANCE
    • Naomi Suzuno - An old childhood friend, Yisa recalls her during her previous years studying in Japan. They were charm school classmates. Yes, try to imagine it. Now she's reunited with her friend, much to Yisa's private delight. She's grateful to have a familiar face in Japan, even if it worries her how deeply and severely she's lost touch with Naomi. Desperate to rekindle some form of bond, even if she's too proud to admit that, Yisa pledged her loyalty to her friend, and avowed to always help her should she ever ask for it.
    • Miwa Saitou - Yisa had a coincidential run-in with the young woman upon learning of her history with Kyo Enda. Fearing she may be the killer's accomplice, Yisa subjected her to a merciless interrogation, all to be convinced that Miwa's broken all contact with her ex-boyfriend. It didn't end there; Miwa's passive, broken-in nature appalled Yisa, and when the young woman dared to apologize for Kyo's actions, Yisa berated and antagonized her into revealing she had some spirit left. Enough for Miwa to land a punch straight in Yisa's face.
  • XV - THE DEVIL
    • Mariko Ohmukai - Yisa rescued Mariko one night from a savage, horrifying beatdown by Yakuza enforcers, all to be properly introduced to the appalling devastation that was Ohmukai's sad, broken life. Feeling somewhat inclined to fix it, and help her, a return visit led to Ohmukai forcefeeding Yisa ecstasy in the company of Kyo Enda. Mariko may be the only person out there to test Yisa's total fearlessness, because she's frankly scared shitless of the girl, a creature who lives entirely without ideals or convictions, and seems to delight in being a victim. The fact she also professes in knowing Izo Imaizumi -- even having his contact information -- is something that disturbs Yisa cold.
  • XVI - THE TOWER
    • Mai Namikawa - Yisa's learned that Mai is closely allied to, and loyal friends with, both Naomi and Mitsuru. While feeling somewhat envious of Mai's place, she has an infinite capacity to build respect for the fellow girl, who, even in their sparse meetings, strikes Yisa as someone strong, determined, and completely genuine. With time, her envy of Mai may grow all the more, as Yisa may concieve of her as her own ideal, the woman she wishes she could, but will never, be... a protector free of all-consuming fury and a monster's bloodlust.
  • XVII - THE STAR
    • None
  • XIX - THE SUN
    • Kyo Enda - A murderer. A monster. Kyo is everything Yisa despises, and everything she fears she has the ability to become. Unable to deny the fact, she believes that Kyo and herself may well be cut from the same cloth, two persons of an identical nature that professes a need to dominate, control, and break others by their whims. Their only difference is that while she fights tooth-and-nail against her bloodthirst, he completely revels in it. Despite her distaste for him, Yisa realizes that understanding Kyo may be the secret to understanding herself, and if it's possible to fix him... maybe she can finally dispel her darkness. Unfortunately, he has his own plans for her.
    • Tatsuya Suou - After a terrifying fight with his Shadow, Yisa has finally crossed paths with Naomi's most trusted friend. What she'll think of him remains to be seen.
